Perk privacy policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Perk is a Chrome extension that runs focus blocks and stretch breaks. Your settings and break history stay on your computer. The only thing Perk sends is anonymous usage stats, which you can switch off.
What Perk stores
Perk keeps these on your own computer, in Chrome's extension storage:
- your settings (block lengths, body areas, work hours, the stretches you have left out);
- the state of the running timer;
- a history of your breaks: when one was taken or skipped, which stretch was shown, glasses of water and repetitions you logged, focus minutes, XP and badges. History older than 90 days is kept only as weekly totals.
What Perk sends
Anonymous usage stats, to Google Analytics, so we can see which parts of Perk are used and improve it. They are on unless you switch them off in Settings > Your data > Share anonymous usage stats; once they are off, nothing is sent.
They say what you did in Perk, for example: a focus block started or finished, a break taken, skipped, snoozed or held for a call, which stretch was done, a glass of water logged, XP earned, a badge or level reached, the popup or dashboard opened, a setting changed and its new value, and Perk installed or updated. Each comes with the Perk version and a random ID made when Perk was installed.
They never include your name or email, the sites you visit, the pages or tabs you have open, anything you type, or anything about your calls. Google Analytics receives the connection's IP address, as every website does, and uses it to estimate the country; it does not keep the address. The stats are used only to improve Perk. They are not sold or shared with anyone else, and are not used for advertising. Google's own handling of the data is described in Google's privacy policy.
What you choose to send. The feedback form, and the short survey that opens when you remove Perk, are Google Forms. Whatever you type into them goes to Google Forms, and only if you send it.
Perk has no server of its own, no account system and no advertising. All of its code, fonts and images are inside the extension.
What Perk can see in your browser
- Meeting tabs. Perk can see whether a tab on Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams is playing sound, so that it does not start a break during a call. It does not read the page, the call or anything you type.
- Whether you are at the computer. Chrome tells Perk when the computer has been idle or locked, so time away can count as a break.
Perk does not use your camera or microphone.
Deleting your data
Settings > Your data > Delete everything removes all of it at once, including the random ID used for usage stats. Removing the extension removes it too. Usage stats already sent cannot be tied back to you, so they cannot be picked out and deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
